Bentley Celebrates 25 Years in Malaysia
Tracing its origins since 1997, the Bentley brand has grown from strength to strength within the ultraluxury segment, bringing unique Bentley experiences to the country – from flying in the legendary Bentley 3 Litre Speed for the viewing pleasure of loyal customers, to hosting the ‘World of Bentley’ exhibition featuring the record-breaking Continental Supersports Convertible.
These are some of the highlights of Bentley’s 25 Years in Malaysia:
1997: The first Bentley-Rolls Royce Dealership was established in Malaysia
1998: Bentley and Rolls Royce were separated
2003: The first 'modern' Bentley was developed under the VW Group - the Continental GT that redefined grand touring
2009: Opening of one-of-a-kind Bentley showroom, ‘The Bentley Gallery’ at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, which included a showcase of the 1924 Bentley 3 Litre Speed and 2001 Bentley EXP Speed 8
2010: The opening of the new 15,000 sqft Bentley Service Centre
2011: 'Fusion of Extremes' Tour – a total of over 3500 kilometres was covered during this road trip in the Mulsanne and the Supersports Convertible, a Bentley capable of reducing up to 70% of net CO2 emissions on a ‘well to wheel’ basis using pioneering FlexFuel technology
2012: 'World of Bentley' Exhibition at Bentley Kuala Lumpur - the biggest set of Bentley exhibits ever assembled in Asia Pacific, including a showcase of the Bentley Supersports that broke the Ice Speed Record driven by Juha Kankkunen
2015: Bentley 'brought the thunder' to Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia with debut of Continental GT3 at the GT Asia and Sepang 12Hr races
2016: Bentley Kuala Lumpur inspires students to 'Be Extraordinary' through a school competition in partnership with the British High Commission. A platform for International Schools to design a Bentley of the future. Designs presented in person to HRH The Duke of York, Prince Andrew during his visit to Malaysia
2017: Opening of the new Bentley Kuala Lumpur showroom at Etiqa Twins and the 'Be Extraordinary' roadshow, which built on the success of the 2012 'World of Bentley' exhibition
2019: Bentley Motors celebrates its Centenary
2020: Flying Spur Evolution exhibition, celebrating 3 generations of the world's best luxury sedan
2022: Bentley Kuala Lumpur celebrates 25 Years of Bentley in Malaysia and launch of its first PHEV model available locally
